The all Electronic Music Open Mic (EMOM) returns to The (legendary) Dublin Castle, 94 Parkway, Camden, London. NW1 7AN

With a fantastic new host and event manager Laurie Black

Taking place on the first Wednesday of every month this is an open stage night for London based electronic and experimental musicians. This night is aimed at giving local artists a supportive space in which to play live and experiment, and socialise with like minded people.

Seeking all forms of electronic/experimental music including: ambient, soundtrack, dance, techno, noise, electropop, drone, glitch, experimental hip-hop, field recordings, electrojazz, chiptune, looping, synthwave, trance, live coding, sound design, etc.

The focus is on London and area based artists.

Get out of your home studio or bedroom, and come out to a fun, supportive night with other enthusiastic tech heads, dabblers and music fans. You don’t need to be an established artist with a full repertoire. This is for anyone who wants to try their hand at playing live in a safe, motivating environment. Phone apps, gadgets, drum machines, loop stations, groove boxes, DJ controllers, sequencers, samplers, modular synths, computers, digital boxes, loose change and a contact mic .. and everything in between…All welcome!

Come out and meet other music makers, producers and creative types from all walks of music making. There should be plenty of time to talk gear, production techniques and a whole range of inspiring ideas.

Event will run from roughly 7pm-11.00pm with wiggle room depending on interest.

There is a small main stage, full live-music speaker system, and a sound engineer that will handle mixing to the main PA. We will have a table for you to setup on, and another one to the side, for the next performer to prep/wrap their gear.

Sorry – no acoustic guitars – unless they are being used to generate soundscapes or some other style of music in keeping with the night (e.g. through pedals, FX units etc.)

This is the only true OPEN MIC night for electronic music in Montreal.

Our motto says it all: Show up. Set up. Play!

If you want to perform:
Try to arrive between 7pm & 8pm so we can set you up before showtime.
Latecomers are OK – but you will be inserted at the end of the other sets.

If you just want to watch: we have a community of regulars who play a wide range of styles from ambient to techno to harsh noise – so there will always be a full night of great music to enjoy.

Doors open at 7pm – Performances start at 8pm

Performers are invited to bless us with a 15-minute set, and slots will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
The running order is decided on the night, although we can accommodate requests by message if you need to be on early or late etc. due to the likes of work commitments or the fact you are travelling from afar.

To secure your spot, we recommend pre-booking by sending us a message, as our slots tend to fill up quickly. However, if space is available walk ins will be welcomed.

As an artist, you are encouraged to bring any merchandise you have, which can be displayed and sold in one of the rooms.

Additionally, feel free to bring a USB stick containing visuals you’d like to be projected during your set.

EMOM (Electronic Music Open Mic) är en gräsrotsrörelse som startades i England 2017 av Martine Christie.
Konceptet är enkelt: att skapa en plattform med låg tröskel för elektroniska musiker att uppträda på. Eventen är öppna för alla, oavsett stil på den elektroniska musiken som framförs – må det så vara Ambient/Jungle/experimentellt/Synth. Fokuset är på nykomlingarna på scenen.

Kvällen den 19e September presenterar vi ett antal artister under kvällen, varje akt får upp till 15 minuters speltid följt av en kortare paus för presentation av kommande artist. (Eventet livesänds via YouTube för en internationell publik) [enkelt att fixa i mån av intresse]

I anmälan, bifoga en kort bio samt representativa musikexempel i den stil som skall framföras. Vi behöver även en rider, dvs vilken utrustning du kommer ha för att framföra din musik. Exemplen används för att vi ska kunna planera en sammanhängande musikberättelse under kvällen. Vi gör inga artistiska urval eller bedömningar, alla är välkomna att spela i mån av tid och plats. Vi påminner om att detta gäller musik där det elektroniska står för huvuduttrycket.

Det slutgiltiga artistprogrammet presenteras Söndag den 13e September, följ för uppdateringar.
På grund av alkoholförsäljning gäller 18-årsgräns under eventet, under 18 kräver i målsmans sällskap. Entrén är fri och helt gratis för samtliga besökare, dock så uppskattar vi självklart frivilliga donationer för att täcka omkostnader.
