IEM Meetup: 8pm-10.30pm, Thursday 13th March at The Flying Duck pub in Ilkley.
For the March meetup we’re gonna do a production activity: GRAB BAG!!
Everyone brings along a few samples of their own creation. We’ll pool them and share the samples around. Then everyone has an hour or so to make something using a selection of the samples.
Once the time is up, we’ll listen to what everyone has put together! And of course everyone is free to take their creations away and continue working on them if creativity is sparked (or bring it along to the next ‘Create Space’ session to tinker with).
If you can, bring a laptop (or something you can load samples on), headphones splitters and we can go into pairs or groups so everyone can participate.
Samples could be any component of a track, eg:
– drum loop
– bassline
– melody
– vocal
– any recorded audio
– one-shot sound like a drum or FX
– ambient texture
If you’re bringing more than one sample, bring a selection of different types, so that we end up with a nice variety of stuff in the grab bag!
Make sure your samples are WAV or MP3 and are named like this:
“YOUR NAME – type of thing” e.g. “Matt – drum loop.wav”
