EMOM returns to the city of spires at an exciting new city centre venue, and we couldn’t be more excited for our second Oxford event!
Join us at The Handlebar on Sunday 27th September 6-10pm, for another evening of live electronic music, creativity and community.
Situated on St Michael’s Street, The Handlebar is a venue with a suitably eclectic history. Maltby’s Bookbinders was established in Oxford in 1834, and the building was later home to the company’s bookbinding workshops. Its large first-floor windows were designed to flood the workshops with natural light for the detailed work of bookbinding. The space later became a bike shop before evolving into the independent café and kitchen that occupies it today.
From bookbinders, to bikes, to electronic music — we’re pretty pleased to be adding another chapter to its history.
EMOM is a relaxed, inclusive open-stage night where electronic musicians, producers and sound artists of all levels can book a slot and perform.
Expect everything from ambient and downtempo to techno, electro, experimental and glitch — all styles and setups are welcome. Laptops, synths, drum machines, modular, samplers, controllers… The only rule is no acoustic guitars unless they are being used to generate soundscapes or some other style of music in keeping with these nights.
Whether you’re performing, testing new material, or just coming to discover fresh music and meet like-minded people, EMOM is all about sharing ideas in a friendly, supportive space.
Performance slots are limited and must be booked in advance.

Or just come along, grab a drink, and enjoy an evening of diverse live electronic acts in one of Oxford’s most characterful independent venues which we are very grateful is supporting grassroots music!
We look forward to seeing you in Oxford!
